On April 7 & 8, Navis regional customers were invited to the Middle East Customer Forum in Abu Dhabi UAE to meet with Navis experts and with each other, in order to share best practices about SPARCS N4 and container operations.  The two days of successful collaboration culminated in the formation of the new Middle East and South Asia (MESA) Navis User Group (NUG).

Containerized cargo makes up about 60% of all dry cargo trade in the world; and since the advent of the cargo container more than 50 years ago, it continues to grow.  The appeal of containerized cargo is well known; cargo can be seamlessly transported from origin to destination via a variety of modes without the need to unload and reload its contents.  The marine container terminal is at the junction of water, rail and truck transport modes. As a consequence, marine container terminals are some of the most important and challenging links in the global supply chain.

Last week,  Navis was showcased at the Intermodal South America exposition in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  This annual event brings together marine container terminal operators, global ports, shipping lines, air freight operators, 3PL companies, and logistics equipment providers for 3 days of networking.  This year we saw Santos Brazil, Embraport, DPW London Gateway, ICTSI, APMT, Suape, HPH, Login, and many more.  More than 30,000 people attend this exposition over the 3 days.

2013 has been a busy year so far for Navis. Since we kicked off 2013, we have put out a number of exciting customer and company announcements. We always love sharing customer stories and SPARCS N4 successes with members of the media.
